This race car is unique in automotive history, not simply because of races and championship that it's won, but because it was there at the beginning of Greg Pickett's career, a legend in Trans Am Racing. An American Racing Icon and a gold standard of collectibles. This car was the last A Production Champion before SCCA retired the class.
The "IROC Series" was created by Penske Productions in 1973, with 15 identically prepared RSR Porsche's. Only 15 drivers that had achieved championships in various world class racing venues were invited to race in IROC. The series finale was at Daytona where Mark Donahue was crowned series champ , George Follmer finished forth, this car is a faithful recreation to the car he drove that day at Daytona.
